This lovely lion was made in Japan in the early 1930s — but he’s definitely more cuddly companion than king of the jungle. With wiry whiskers, big felt eyes, and a tiny red tongue, he’s got all the character of a well-loved house cat. And he’s nearly 100 years old!
A beautifully preserved piece of plush toy history, showcasing the delicate hand-stitching and textile craftsmanship that defined early 20th-century Japanese toymaking.
