Borka is a John Burningham masterpiece which was first published in 1963. The story of a goose who is born with no feathers, the fact of which propels her away from her family on a whirlwind adventure across marshes, aboard boats and finally to Kew Gardens, where she meets her soul mate Ferdinand.

I’m always on the hunt for Borka first editions but, being one of Burningham’s most popular books, they are very hard to find. This early printing from the year after publication, in 1964, is the next best thing.

A timeless story of featherless friendship that will win your heart.
