Condition: VG+. Both book and original dust jacket are in very good condition. Dust jacket has not been price clipped, is protected by a cover and other than some discolouration at top edge is in great condition. Book itself, other than some minor foxing in places, is also in excellent condition, with no major marks or inscriptions.
A first edition of the beautiful Fishes by Brian Wildsmith, featuring full-page paintings by Wildsmith of various types of fish in their natural habitat, with the collective noun for each sea creature overlaid on top.
A cluster of of clutter fish, a company of archer fish, a party of rainbow fish… the collective nouns are both obscure and curiously suitable. And the paintings are those of a British painter, illustrator and lover of the natural world working at his absolute best.
