Twitchy Whisker on the Track, published by Collins, London, 1948.
Both in good vintage condition.
(An inscription to previous owner on inside covers, and the second book has some light spine damage, as you can see in pictures.)
A Twitchy Whisker double bill from the 1940s, both probable first editions, and illustrated by the inimitable (but hugely underrated) Cyril Cowell. Cowell, working as an illustrator since his teens, injected so much magic into his drawings of the natural world. We’d put him on a par with Beatrix Potter, but with a bit more swagger. Sold as a set of two.
