This wonderful near-antique Mickey Mouse was made in England by Semco in the 1930s. A now very collectable piece of Disney history, produced not long after Mickey made his first public debut in Steamboat Willie, in 1928.
Whoever first loved this toy would have had no idea of what an anthropomorphic megastar Mickey would become - risen from a sympathetic underdog who got on by pluck in the face of challenges bigger than himself, to the world’s most recognisable and universally acclaimed fictional character.
This is one of the earliest Mickey toys, with the brand name ‘SEMCO’ still just visible on its label.
Measurements: 30cm in length.
Condition: Well-loved.
