Original exhibition catalogue from the seminal 50 Years of Bauhaus exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art, 1968.
Featuring iconic cover design by Herbert Bayer.
This exhibition ran from 21 September to 27 October 1968, and included an opening ceremony, exhibition and "Bauhaus" Fest, and paid tribute to the two recently deceased Bauhaus titans, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Walter Gropius.
This is a well preserved catalogue from a landmark exhibition, which combined elements of fine arts and design education and provided a fascinating snapshot into Bauhaus theory and creativity, fifty years after Gropius founded Bauhaus in the city of Weimar.
Condition: A very good copy overall, but with some small chips to the top of the spine and some minor edge wear to the dust jacket. No major interior marks or inscriptions inside the catalogue.
