Antique Humpty Dumpty, 1920s.
During the English Civil War, history says, a one-eyed gunner named Thompson managed to get a cannon – colloquially called 'Humpty Dumpty', to the top of the tower of St Mary at the Walls church and wreak untold destruction on the forces below, before return cannon fire dislodged the pair of them.
That cannon at some point later metamorphosized into an egg and became the star of the most famous nursery rhymes in the world, and a device for a riddle around breakable things.
This Humpty is almost 100 years old and he still ain’t broke. In fact he’s in lovely condition and ready to bring some quirky antique character to your life.
Until now, you didn’t know what was missing.
